Lunar New Year is less a date on the calendar than a deliberate act of gathering. On February 11th, the Global Watch Company marked the celebration with an intimate evening in partnership with Chopard and Krug, welcoming a select circle of collectors and friends.
Guests were received by sculptural red roses and chilled pours of Krug Champagne and Rosé, setting an elegant tone. Inside, live music drifted beneath conversations unfolding at the vitrines.
The culinary program echoed the evening’s occasion. Dumplings, spring rolls, and Chinese burgers offered a respectful nod to tradition, while red macarons and lemon tarts extended the festive palette with a restrained sweetness.
Chopard’s creations served as the evening’s throughline, anchoring the experience in technical mastery and design integrity. Guests were invited to try on both high jewelry and timepieces, with several defining pieces commanding attention. The Imperiale, a GPHG award-winning model limited to just 25 examples, underscored the maison’s horological credibility. The Alpine Eagle Green in full gold offered an assertive counterpoint, its saturated dial and substantial case lending contemporary presence.
From the high jewelry collections, L’Heure du Diamant illustrated Chopard’s virtuosity with light, while Happy Diamonds introduced a sense of movement and spontaneity. Happy Hearts designs, seen in earrings and bracelets throughout the room, added a subtle note of symbolism.
